“The Winner” by Bobby Bare, released in 1976 and written by Shel Silverstein, is a talking song where an old barroom fighter tells a young man the hard truth about being “the winner.” Bare delivers it with dry humor and grit, turning Silverstein’s dark comedy into a country classic about how every victory comes with scars. #country | Truck Stop Country
