Andy Kaufman was born on this day in 1949. Kaufman famously engaged in a feud with Jerry "The King" Lawler in the 1980s. The feud earned them a spot on the David Letterman show where Lawler slapped Andy in the face after having water thrown at him. Kaufman partnered with Jimmy Hart in the feud as he and Lawler wrestled multiple times. He died in 1984 at the age of 35 as the result of Cancer. #Memphis #prowrestling #wrestling #wrestler #andykaufman #manonthemoon #MemphisWrestling #WWE #WWEHistory

On April 5, 1982, Kaufman faced King Jerry Lawler at the Mid-South Coliseum in a match that ended with two piledrivers and months
