I have been having a heck of time connecting two routers together. Here is the setup. One laptop, wired/wireless connection. One iPad 2. Zyxel DSL Modem that is also a wired router. NEW Asus RT-N16.

The various Ethernet ports on your router can serve different purposes, depending on the model. Thankfully, it's not hard to discern what they're for.
